Dan Huntley - BOD Meeting Reflections
Well, we are one week away from the Star City Pride special election (and Corporation Meeting), and I'm reflecting on this past Monday's Board meeting.Well, we are one week away from the Star City Pride special election (and Corporation Meeting), and I'm reflecting on this past Monday's Board meeting. Overall, the meeting went well and we covered quite a bit of ground. We discussed things like our sponsorship packets, the non-profit reinstatement plan, as well as some exciting new events coming in 2019. The recurring theme, as we went down the meeting agenda, was that we have some work for the new officers to take up once they are seated next Wednesday. We are ready to hand the reigns over to our new board members! We didn't want to make too many moves without having good people in the vacant positions, but progress is still being made! Here's where we turn to YOU, the followers, supporters, and corporation members of Star City Pride. Next Wednesday evening (630pm at The Foundry, 3rd Floor conference room) is a special election to seat four vacant positions: President; Treasurer; Sponsorship and Development Director; and Community Outreach Coordinator. Star City Pride is a community organization powered by its community... organized by its all-volunteer staff and we need you! Please make every effort to attend and vote in the elections, and please consider serving your community by volunteering to hold one of these positions.
Star City Pride has A LOT of work to do and our next corporation meeting is scheduled for December 5th at The Foundry (211 N 14th St). We will be holding elections to fill FOUR vacant positions, we will be discussing the Star City Pride 2019 theme and design, and much more! Please make every effort to come participate in the elections and make sure YOUR voice is heard!
You deserve a say in how Star City Pride does business, so be sure to be a part of it by being a voting member of the corporation or be nominated and voted in to serve on our Executive Board. Here's your chance to serve!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
The 2018 Star City Pride Board would like to take a moment to thank all supporters of the 2018 Pride Festival in Lincoln. The countless hours spent by the volunteers, committees and corporation members made Star City Pride 2018 an absolute success! To our entertainers, you captivated the crowds and took our breath away with every performance that hit the stage! Our sponsors and vendors stepped up when they heard the call and turned out physically and monetarily to support the LGBT community of Lincoln and all of Nebraska. To our patrons and pride-goers, we can’t thank you enough for your attendance at Pride and look forward to making each and every passing year bigger and better than the last. We were humbled to kick off the 2018 Pride Month, and were fortunate to loudly and proudly, SAY IT WITH PRIDE! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
